Dermal Fillers
Address selected volume changes and refine contour, with careful attention to facial proportions, balance, and your individual anatomy.
What is this treatment?
Dermal fillers are injectable materials used to add volume or improve selected contours and folds. Different materials have different properties and approved uses. A personalized approach considers facial balance rather than treating every area in isolation.
Areas and suitable candidates
A facial assessment helps determine whether your concern relates to volume, skin quality, or muscle movement. Areas and product selection are confirmed at consultation according to clinical suitability and the product’s approved uses. Your medical history, allergies, medications, prior fillers, recent procedures, and any active skin infection matter. Not everyone is a suitable candidate.
What to expect
Your provider discusses the proposed areas, alternatives, limitations, and potential complications. If you decide to proceed after assessment, the skin is prepared and the selected filler is placed with an appropriate injection technique. Pressure, tenderness, or brief discomfort can occur. You receive instructions on recovery and symptoms that need prompt attention.
Recovery and important risks
Swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness, and temporary firmness are common possibilities. Lumps, infection, delayed inflammation, and asymmetry can also occur. Rare injection into a blood vessel can cause tissue damage, vision loss, or stroke. Severe or unusual pain, skin blanching or discoloration, or vision changes require immediate medical assessment. Filler is not risk-free.
Results and your treatment plan
Many fillers create an initial visible volume change, but swelling can obscure the early appearance. Settling and duration depend on the material, area, amount, and individual; there is no single timeline for all fillers. Your plan reflects anatomy, existing treatments, desired balance, and risk considerations. Costs and any staged treatment are discussed during consultation. No specific longevity or outcome is guaranteed.
